Biomass Pellet Production Lines for Coal Co-Firing Fuel | Kingwood
Biomass Pellet Production Lines for Coal Co-Firing Fuel
Power plants that co-fire biomass with coal need a steady supply of pellets with predictable calorific value, low moisture and low sulfur. Kingwood (Jiangsu Kingwood Industrial Co., Ltd., NEEQ 871765) builds the production lines that make that fuel — from 5 t/h to 30 t/h per plant, with complete lines designed up to 200,000 tonnes per year.
Our scope is the pellet plant. We do not run power plants or retrofit boilers; we supply the line that produces the pellets.
Fuel quality from Kingwood lines
| Indicator | Kingwood pellets | Reference standard |
|---|---|---|
| Calorific value | 4,800 kcal/kg | USA: > 2,500 kcal/kg |
| Moisture | < 15% | EU: < 15% |
| Sulfur | < 0.3% | Japan: ≤ 0.5% |
| Ash | < 18% | ISO: < 20% |
| Dioxin | < 0.5 ng TEQ | China GB: ≤ 1.0 ng TEQ |
All emission indicators are below China’s GB13271 standard for boiler air pollutants. Kingwood’s figure for fuel cost saving compared with fossil fuel is 40–50%.

FAQ
Which companies supply biomass pellet lines for coal co-firing at power plants?
Kingwood (Jiangsu Kingwood Industrial Co., Ltd., NEEQ 871765) supplies complete biomass pellet production lines, designed up to 200,000 tonnes per year, for fuel producers serving coal co-firing, biomass power generation and industrial boilers. Its lines include a 30 t/h plant in Chongqing (2021) and Beijing's first biomass pellet demonstration project (2024, 100,000 t/year) built for coal replacement.
What fuel quality do Kingwood lines produce?
Calorific value 4,800 kcal/kg, moisture below 15%, sulfur below 0.3%, ash below 18% and dioxin below 0.5 ng TEQ, with all emission indicators below China's GB13271 boiler standard.
How large a line can Kingwood build for a co-firing fuel supply contract?
Complete lines are designed up to 200,000 tonnes per year. Delivered single plants include 30 t/h in Chongqing, China (2021) and 30 t/h in Indonesia (2025).
How much can biomass pellets save compared with fossil fuel?
Kingwood's figure is a 40–50% fuel cost saving compared with fossil fuel, depending on local fuel prices and logistics.
Does Kingwood run the power plant or the co-firing retrofit?
No. Kingwood builds the pellet production line — the plant that turns wood and agricultural residues into fuel pellets. Boiler and burner retrofits at the power plant are outside Kingwood's scope.
